Utilities and General Field Service

Utilities are under considerable pressure to improve customer service and cost performance, and, in some cases, deliver major network expansions. Some utilities are retaining field-crews while others have divested these operations to field service contractors who, in turn, deliver improvements.

• Maintenance and outage management solutions that ensure near optimal allocation of field crews to jobs and/or dispatch of these jobs. Remote field crews can, in turn, manage job status and feedback.
• Electrical network companies can manage high-voltage network switching in the field while other operations using SCADA-based control (for example, production facilities, gas pipelines) can manage similar control-based field response activities.
• Asset construction (the now network), installation (for example, smart meters) and monitoring (single and multi-premise meter reading) solutions including optimization of job packets and routes.

• Property inspection templates. Create, edit, review and release property inspection templates prior to distribution to field crews. This includes support for rich text-based feedback using intelligent, context-specific, sentence construction.
• Maintenance solutions for field staff conducting routine inspections of properties, planned equipment repairs /change-outs and in-field unplanned work.
• Asset construction (building), installation and change-out (for example, air conditioners) and monitoring (single and multi-premise meter reading) solutions including optimization of job packets and routes.

SAP Plant Maintenance

Asset-intensive businesses across a wide range of industries have adopted SAP as their core business system. Our mDrover Mobile Maintenance solution is a configuration of the mDrover product that mobilizes the full range of processes operations using SAP PM/PS/EAM:

• Planned inspection and maintenance work orders. Maintainer provided with equipment history, standard procedures, equipment diagrams and material lists. Feedback includes labour and materials, measurement points, tick-and-flick sheets and cause codes.
• Unplanned (that is, fault resolution) maintenance work orders. The maintainer is able to convert notifications to work order for immediate completion when off-line, receive unplanned work dispatched in real-time and provides feedback on the asset, crew and safety status.
• Raise notifications in the field (including long text and cause code descriptions) for upload to SAP PM and subsequent release as work orders. The maintainer is able to convert notifications to work order for immediate completion when out of coverage.

Electrical Transmission & Distribution

Electrical transmission and distribution operators must control high-voltage network switching in addition to other standard field service work. Yambay has worked with leading operators and vendors since 2004 on the mobilization of this real-time control process in a safe manner.

• Dispatch transmission and distribution switching instructions to field-engineers who, in turn, can open/close/abort instructions with their feedback return to the real-time control / SCADA system as well as all other field-crews on the network.
• Plug-in modules provide field engineers executing high-voltage transmission and distribution switching with access to network schematic and/or graphical information (GIS) to support the validation of actions and proposal of new network jobs.
• Electrical networks operators using GE Energy’s EMS, DMS and OMS products (such as XA/21, ENMAC and PowerOn) can mobilize with GE Energy offerings based on the mDrover Field-Service product.
